Reiki is an ancient form of healing which has its origins in Tibetan Buddhism. it uses universal life force energy to promote harmony, wholeness, healing and consciousness. It harmonises your energies throughout your entire physical, emotional and spiritual bodies. It is essentially a releaser, activator, energiser and transformer of energy. 

'REI' - refers to universal or cosmic energy where's 'KI'  is the life force which flows through every living thing. It is a tool for spiritual growth as it connects you with your higher self and allows you to feel that you are a cosmic being. 

The healer has previously undergone training from a Reiki Master and received attunements - an ancient technology for fine tuning the physical and etheric bodies to a higher vibratory level. The chakras are opened to enable the healer to channel and vibrate higher amounts of Universal Life Force Energy. What happens during Reiki healing is that this cosmic energy enters the purified channel of the healer starting at the crown chakra then through the upper chakras to the heart and solar plexus before passing through the arms and hands of the healer and then into the body of the person receiving the healing.

When you get a Reiki session from a skilled Reiki healer you will experience a great release of tension. As stress from modern life places pressure on the immune system, we have less ability to heal.
