This November, a sacred yoga retreat unfolds on the southern coast of Sri Lanka, a six-day immersion into stillness, movement, and connection, set amidst golden beaches, lush jungle, and the rhythm of the Indian Ocean. This retreat is an invitation to slow down, breathe deeply, and remember what it means to live well.
Each day includes multiple yoga and meditation sessions held in open-air shalas, nourishing local meals, and time to explore the land, rest, or simply be. The rhythm of the ocean and the sounds of the jungle create the perfect backdrop for deep rest and renewal. You’ll enjoy nourishing buffet-style meals blending traditional Sri Lankan and Western flavours, just steps from the sea. With access to luxurious amenities such as an Ayurvedic spa, recovery centre, gardens, and a peaceful beachfront sanctuary, this experience offers both adventure and deep restoration.
Over the course of the retreat, Chardin will be guiding three workshops, offering an opportunity to explore Himalayan yoga meditation from the Sri Vidya lineage, Buddhist meditation, and traditional Tantric Hatha Yoga. The sessions will be woven into a wider container of daily hatha, vinyasa, yin, nidra, sound healing, breathwork, and even aerial yoga, offered by a collective of skilled facilitators. There’s also the chance to venture outward with a full-day jeep safari through a remote national park, and a Sri Lankan cooking demonstration to nourish body and spirit alike. This retreat is a sacred return to the wild within. A week of conscious connection, soulful community, and space to breathe, grow, and receive what your spirit has been quietly asking for.

Chardin’s path began in the vineyards of New Zealand and France, where he earned degrees in Oenology and Viticulture and spent years immersed in the rhythms of the land. Over time, his journey turned inward, drawing him toward the world of meditation, yoga, mantra and healing. For the past 15 years, he has been walking the path guided by teachers, mystics, alchemists, seers, shamans, traditions and practices that continue to shape his understanding and devotion.
His meditation journey began under the guidance of a Master Buddhist Monk, where he was introduced to the Theravāda lineage and the profound stillness of vipassanā practice. This foundation naturally evolved into a deep exploration of the Himalayan Tantric Hatha Yoga tradition, where he completed a 500-hour training and received initiation into mantra, pranayama, and meditative practices rooted in the Sri Vidya lineage, a path revered for its wisdom, beauty, and pursuit of Self-realisation. Along the way, he also immersed himself in the study of alchemy and was initiated into Kriya Yoga in the tradition of Paramahansa Yogananda, a meditation practice akin to the Himalayan Raja Yoga taught at Soul Room. In addition, years of study with two Bhakti masters deepened his understanding of devotion and sacred sound, opening the heart through the power of love and mantra.
Chardin’s exploration of healing emerged through direct experience - first through plant medicines, then through subtle energy work. His work with master teacher plants unfolded over several years, bringing him into deeper relationship with nature as a healer. Later, under the guidance of a Chi Master, he began to work with the subtle frequencies of prāṇa/chi and the healing intelligence of energy. These experiences, alongside Reiki training, helped awaken an inner sensitivity and a calling to be of service and a guide to others on their own paths of healing and awakening.

Selina began her yoga journey in 2023 after stepping away from a demanding career as a Paramedic with Ambulance Victoria. After more than three years of high-intensity frontline service, the emotional and psychological toll became overwhelming, prompting her to seek deeper healing and reconnection. A solo trip to Indonesia became the turning point, where she discovered yoga as a powerful tool for grounding, recovery, and inner transformation.
Inspired by its impact, she completed a 200-hour multi-style yoga certification, using the practice as a space to untangle past trauma and rebuild her sense of self. Her commitment to the path deepened, leading her to Rishikesh, India, where she completed an additional 100-hour Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training in early 2025. Since then, she has taught across multiple studios and facilitated a yoga retreat in Sri Lanka, sharing a range of styles with students from diverse backgrounds.
As an instructor, Selina is dedicated to creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where individuals of all ages and abilities can experience the empowering benefits of yoga. Her mission is to make yoga accessible to elderly students, people with disabilities, women, corporate groups, and anyone seeking meaningful connection and healing. Through her teaching and upcoming retreats, she hopes to offer others the same sense of peace, resilience, and self-discovery that yoga has brought into her life, and she looks forward to partnering with those ready to begin their own journey.
